Robert Maseko is an outstanding African Master Drummer & Educative music worker who have set up a new vision programme not to just remain an entertainer but to also educate through Arts & Music. His project Drumming 4 Diversity has gained him a very good reputation working with young people in Schools in the UK and worldwide and great respect among his fellows Artists who calls him a great Artist “Father Arts”.

“Drumming 4 Diversity is a new project. A new vision as he experienced in this field he likes to state it clean that music isn’t just performing and recording, these are just elements of the process focusing more on achieving mainstream business need! He has 8 years experience Promoting Culture Diversity and aims to pass on his Music skills and experience acquired during the 13 years of business back to the communities he have been committed to for a long time. He has gained great respect and reputation from all different communities in UK particularly in Primary and Secondary schools level actively where he go promoting and offer understanding of culture diversity through Arts and Music with the aim to build the young ones with confidence by building culture awareness and promoting racial harmony. He has been contracted by colleges, public, educational authorities and specialist educational agencies including reputed music venues.
For all his workshops he uses African drums like ngoma, djembes, xylophone, talking drum, marimba and various other instruments as practical teaching tools – To teach African literature he uses ancient African methods of poetry and story
telling including dance and masks.”
Educative Workshops Aims
Primary is to promote awareness of the arts and people of other cultures.
Other Aims Included:
To provide the opportunity for pupils and staff to access exciting new cultural experience.
For pupils and staff to experience the work of professional artist first hand.
To encourage individual expression, imagination and creativity through arts activities.
To enhance children’s listening and concentration skills.
To contribute to the development of children’s fine and gross motor skills.
Learning Outcomes:

To admire and respect artists from different cultures.
To gain experience of working alongside professional artists.
For teachers:
To further their awareness of art and music from other cultures.
To gain skills from working alongside professional artists.
For Public:
Uses Drumming workshop as therapy.
To help minds coordination.
African Drumming methods deals with reducing pressure @ work and from our daily life.
Young people:
Provide them with fun filled day.
Master Drummer Robert Maseko went into St Hilda Primary School, in Gilesgate, Durham, with examples of different African drums to teach pupils the basics. - School head Jane Katsambis said " It has been excellent. The children have enjoyed it. "An event like this helps with hand and eye co-ordination and helps develop their sense of rhythm."

They Kicked off the Project with some very lively African Drum Workshops.
